May be a fantasy movie with an original, interesting main charakter?

I like movies which have human main characters which are original and
interesting for example Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland (2010),
Harry Potter chracters (Severus Snape, Lupin, Lucius Malfoy), Edward
Scissorhands and so on.
Could you recommend some movies with crazy, original, fantasy human
chracters who may be a bit similar to those i mentioned????
Oh i forgot to mention Phantom of the Opera, which I also like.
